My name is Emily Whynott and I am a fine artist and educator based in Philadelphia, PA. I graduated with a BFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Socially-Engaged Studio Art from Moore College of Art & Design.

My practice explores the potential for art to provoke joy. I use inexpensive, commonplace materials like paper, cardboard, clay, and tape to create wonky, imperfect sculptures. I challenge the traditional expectation that a sculpture be durable or made from precious materials.

My artworks are large and immersive while at the same time cluttered with small, obsessive details. It is my sincere hope that my audience experiences my delight in the artmaking process while engaging with my work.
